JGB Asbury Park Concert reviews
One of the best concert experiences I could hope for
The night I saw him at the El Rey Theater in LA was nothing short of extraordinary, filled with intense anticipation for when I would see him last summer. When he's not too busy cooing, belting, or inducing us in a state of euphoria with his signature sexified voice, he's jumping around and ripping his shirt off. Make no mistake, this wildman onstage is a smooth and slick R&B singer. I was blown away at how much energy he brought to the stage and how well he could connect and captivate a crowd. 2,000 Angelenos with different backgrounds and different opinions arrived on a hot summer evening to see one of R&B's rising stars, and all left with one universal fact. You believe his every word, every note, every smile, and every awe-struck face staring back at him. So the run up for when I would see JGB last summer has begun. The Age of Apollo has begun.
